Large gas explosion damages homes in London Ont

first_imgLONDON – Emergency crews are on scene in London, Ontario after reports a vehicle crashed into a home and struck a gas line.The incident occurring late Wednesday night, causing an explosion strong enough to shake homes blocks away.Police have arrested one woman in connection to the initial crash.Many on scene reporting a large explosion that looked like fireworks and a number of homes damaged.Area residents have been safely removed from their homes as a precaution.While there are no civilian injuries, 2 officers suffered minor injuries and 2 firefighters are in hospital.“This is going to be a several day investigation.. and we’re just asking all occupants in the area to be cognizant of that, especially on their commute tomorrow (Thursday) and to stay out of the area, or the immediate area.” Constable Shayna Boland said.The exact cause of the explosion has not been confirmed.Police are continuing their efforts in making sure all houses are evacuated and several buses are there for any occupants to go on.#London #Ontario #Canada Felt the impact of the explosion all the way in 700 King Street.
