  • Fort St. John RCMP search for stolen Jeep

    first_imgFort St. John RCMP are searching for suspects after a vehicle was stolen early in the morning on Boxing Day.Police say they received a call that a black 1992 Jeep Cherokee had been stolen from 97 Ave. near 93 St. – Advertisement -The vehicle has the licence plate number 164 PFW.The vehicle was taken sometime between midnight and 3:30 a.m. Sunday.Police say fresh snow created difficulties in determining the number of people involved in the theft.  They also say the owner had the only vehicle key with him, so they are unsure as to how the suspects were able to enter the vehicle and if they had to break a window.Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to contact the Fort St. John RCMP detachment at 250-787-8100 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.Advertisementlast_img read more

  • Arsenal handed major boost as FIVE stars return to action

    first_img1 Jack Wilshere stepped up his return from injury by scoring and helping an Arsenal XI defeat Brentford on Tuesday.The midfielder was part of a mixed side which took on Brentford at the Gunners’ training base in London Colney.He was among five senior stars to return to action, with Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Debuchy, Abou Diaby and Mathieu Flamini all starting alongside members of Steve Gatting’s under-21 squad.January signing Krystian Bielik also played as Arsenal ran out 4-0 against their Championship opponents.Wilshere opened the scoring before setting up youngster Daniel Crowley for the second.   • “If McGuinness is so good, why didn’t he win a second All-Ireland?” – McGee

    first_imgA former inter-county manager who was part of a committee that devised the much maligned ‘black card’ has launched an astonishing attack on Jim McGuinness. Eugene McGee, guided Offaly to an All-Ireland title in 1982 – but he hit back at McGuinness after his column in The Irish Times.McGuinness wrote, “Eugene McGee, one of its architects, thinks it has cleaned up the game. In my opinion it has ruined the game.” However, McGee hit back this evening, and said McGuinness thinks he is the high priest of football because he won one All-Ireland title – and mocked him for not winning more.McGee said, “Jim McGuinness thinks because he won one All-Ireland he is the high priest of football and the Irish Times gives him space to expound on his theories.“If he is that good, why didn’t he win a second All-Ireland or a third All-Ireland? So, I’m simply saying that the vast majority of people that I know are happy with the black card.
