    first_imgAdditional security measures will go into effect when the second session of the 62nd general assembly resumes Thursday, March 26. “The safety and security of all staff, members and the public is very important,” said Kevin Murphy, Speaker of the House of Assembly. “We want ensure that all Nova Scotians and visitors feel safe while at Province House.” All visitors to Province House will be required to: check in at the commissionaire’s desk located at the Hollis Street entrance submit a valid photo ID (driver’s licence, passport, or other form of ID), which will be kept in a secure location by the commissionaire. A guest pass will be issued. check all bags at the commissionaire’s desk. Bags will be stored securely with an identification tag. Visitors will use that tag for pickup when they leave pass through a metal detector wear a guest badge, which must be visible at all times Government employees and media will have to go through the metal detector and have purses and bags scanned.
