    first_imgIndia’s star shuttler and London Olympics bronze medallist Saina Nehwal crashed out of BWF World Championships 2019 after squandering match point opportunities in her Round of 16 match against Mia Blichfeldt of Denmark in Basel on Thursday.8th seed Saina Nehwal lost 21-14, 25-27, 21-12 in 72 minutes to the 16th seed Danish shuttler who held her composure even as the seasoned Indian shuttler had match points in the second game.The 3-game loss also brought an end to Saina Nehwal’s run of 8 successive quarter-finals appearances at BWF World Championships. In 2018, Saina had become the first women’s singles shuttler to reach quarter-finals in 8 successsive editions of the world meet.Saina began the match on a high by dominating rallies against the Mia as she had a 6-point lead at the mid-game break. However, the second game was a close affair with both the shuttlers trading points.
